Collaboration
Lasting change comes from communities working side by side.
Founded in 1988 as Vidyanagar Nature Club in Anand, Gujarat, VNC is now a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) registered in the United States, with more than 450 members who care about wild places and the people who live beside them.
VNC began in 1988 as Vidyanagar Nature Club: a handful of friends in Anand, Gujarat, who wanted to protect the wildlife and green spaces around them. Three decades on, it is a volunteer-driven charity working across the Charotar region, and now registered in the United States.
Most of our projects are in the Charotar region of Gujarat, where we protect wildlife, restore habitats, reduce waste and plant trees. Our work runs across eight programme areas, from environment education and snake rescue to biodiversity research. With support from donors and volunteers in the US, that work is reaching further every year.
Eight programme areas, all volunteer-run.
Inspire people everywhere to protect the environment, live sustainably and speak up for wildlife, as one global community of volunteers.
Lasting change comes from communities working side by side.
Solutions that are good for the planet and for the people we serve.
Understanding is the first step toward meaningful change.
